Rob Brotherton claims in his new book Suspicious Minds: Why We Believe Conspiracy Theories that only 5% of the witnesses at Dealey Plaza said they heard more than 3 shots, whereas 81% said they heard 3 shots. That’s not what I believe I remember reading. Anybody have any idea where he would have gotten those figures from?

Josiah Thompson’s Six Seconds in Dallas lists 172 witnesses who reported how many shots he/she heard, as follows:
136 — 3 shots
6 — 4 shots
3 — more than 4
5 — 3 or 4
12 — 2 shots
10 — 2 or 3
Josiah Thompson’s Six Seconds in Dallas proves that the Parkland Bullet was an unjacketed pointed bullet having no resemblance whatsoever to CE399.
If we are going to cite Thompson and agree with his findings, let’s be consistent about it. He is either a reliable source or he is not.

I don’t agree with all of those on Reitzes’ list (e.g. Stone emphasizing or preferring certain points over others and omitting the latter). Dramatic license was taken too.
Besides, I think the WCR is a bigger myth.
Stone’s film is a work of fiction, and does not pretend to be a documentary. The endless and vicious attacks on Stone by the anti-conspiracists would sound less hollow if they spared an ounce of their ire for the Warren Commission Report, an official document so one-sided and deceitful that it, too, merits the label of fiction.
The problem with this argument is that Stone intended to convince his audience that there was a conspiracy, and pretended that his film was historically accurate.
See The Book of the Film. It has citations throughout the script to conspiracy books, as though it was recreating real history.
Stone’s film was based on known history at the time, before the ARRB, though not that of the Government. It concentrated on the Clay Shaw trial which concluded there was a conspiracy. Just like the later Watergate participant Hunt trial later did. Shaw was later proven to be a CIA asset at the time of the assassination of JFK. Back and to the left is as true as it ever was.
Regarding the Main Stream Media.. I found it both interesting and surprising today that the Washington Post ran a fairly objective article of decent length on Gayle Nix Jackson’s suit for her Grandfather’s film.

Here is the crazy thing. Reading the exchange between Photon and theNewDanger, it seems to me that tND has a better hold on the truth of the matter. However i think the voluminous technical merits of the issue and the painful tone that argument induces are discouraging to most people and they just turn it off.
You need the facts to tell a true story, but ultimately a good story carries the day. It’s more comfortable to the psyche. The act of continuous reasoning is a kind of living hell for many
people, especially when you have to discard previous ideas that give comfort and security.
This is the paradox that reality based politics suffers from. The counter-myth making by the likes of Mr. Stone cannot be neglected if you want the truth to pervail outside of a small academic audience.
Oliver Stone’s comments on the mainstream media are particularly perceptive and critically important to grasp, for it is the Public Relations Regime that is the System’s greatest weapon against reality and truth. It is this weapon of the State that maintains the unreal superstitions and myths that support such a glaringly obvious illegitimate authoritarian structure referred to as “government”.
TV is one the big tops of the old meme of “bread & circuses”. Of course the film and entertainment industry are another and professional arena sports are other mind numbing distractions, all tied together by the Advertising Industry driving Commercialism.
That Stone uses one of these circuses as an effective medium to reveal the scam of the present paradigm, is his greatest crime and Sacrilege to the Criminal Cabal running this tacky Burlesque.

Are you seriously saying that test firing an unloaded Carcano, recycling, and reacquiring the target in simulation of Specter’s fantasy scene in a movie is the same as firing a LOADED Carcano, recycling, and reacquiring the target into a crowded vehicle on a downward trajectory in real life? Bullets fired from a Carcano don’t have the velocity to escape gravity, but somehow at least three shots included one requiring a much higher trajectory than shots fired at the motorcade that was a complete miss that caused injury to Tague, these three shots that had first been claimed all to have hit and all within 6-8 seconds – JFK hit separately by two and Connolly separately by only one (this conversation between LBJ and Hoover does NOT point to shots coming only from the TSBD. Further to what Danger says, it’s ludicrous to even suggest that dry-firing the MC (like Penn & Teller do) at an imaginary target is equivalent to an actual test that proves what no experts have done on their first attempt at 3 shots like Oswald was alleged to have done.

Their is another JFK movie in development a prequel with Matt LaBlanc cast as General Curtis Lemay, that takes place at Jimmy Hoffa’s old fishing resort on Sugar island, Michigan/gone the Rainbow’s End. It’s a Warner Brothers project, not sure if Stone has the time to Direct he is Busy with the Catch 22 Snowden project Movie, Still looking for someone to Play Jimmy Hoffa and all the Strippers at the big Barn Casino they had back in the early 60’s…. Perhaps a woman should direct this one if one is Busy. I will let you know when principal photography is scheduled.
