Jacob Hornberger gets to the point about President Biden’s upcoming October 26 decision on the last of the JFK assassination files.

What is the reason that has caused the CIA to want to keep these thousands of records secret from the American people. The reason, I am more convinced than ever, is that the CIA knows that those remaining records constitute more pieces to the overall puzzle of criminal culpability on the part of the CIA in the regime-change operation that took place on November 22,1963.
After all, let’s face it: No matter what definition is put on that nebulous and meaningless term “national security,” there is no possibility that anything bad will happen to the United States if those 60-year-old secret records are released to the American people. The United States will not fall into the ocean. The supposed international communist conspiracy to take over the United States that was supposedly based in Moscow, Russia (yes, that Russia!) during the Cold War won’t be reinvigorated. Communist Cuba will not invade the United States. The dominoes near North Vietnam will not fall to the communists. North Korea will not come and get us.
President Biden just ordered the release of President Trump’s secret records relating to the January 6 Capitol protests. Why not the same decision with respect to those 60-year-old secret records of the CIA relating to the Kennedy assassination?
Hornberger is very good, and his short books on the autopsy do a great service in summarizing the massive 5-volume set by Douglas Horne. But it’s surely ironic that a basically right-wing (libertarian) would take on the role of pessimist, a job traditionally assumed by the Left (i.e. Orwellian social-democrats).
If there is overwhelming reason to give up hope that any US president will ever force the issue, then we are looking at an eventual collapse of the American state as we know it. The Cold War is long over, and the “national security” rationale for continued secrecy rings increasingly shrill and hollow. The longer this goes on, the more the rot eats away at the core of the Republic. In that sense, “national security” should mandate full disclosure and a complete reckoning with our past.
Maybe the mainstream media is ignoring it because they see that people that supposedly are groundbreaking investigators on this issue don’t even care enough to to make sure their websites countdown to 26 October is correct. It reads 31 on 10 October, it actually went up from 30 since I last commented on this issue. The comment was ignored as I’m sure this one will be in a demonstration of Mr Morley’s commitment to transparency. Too busy self promoting I suppose.
Is your complaint still valid?
