From the White House, President Biden’s Order on JFK Files

The White House uses the right language on JFK files but the two-month delay in releasing decades-old records is more than a disappointment.

“….the need to protect records concerning the assassination has only grown weaker with the passage of time.  It is therefore critical to ensure that the United States Government maximizes transparency, disclosing all information in records concerning the assassination, except when the strongest possible reasons counsel otherwise.”

  1. These files need to be accessible by the American people. I began teaching 20 years ago and promised my students in their lifetimes we would know the secrets that our own government was keeping from us. Just the thought of that is despicable. To think that 20 years later we still don’t have access to all of these files is disgustingly undemocratic. Release the files!
