Joan Mellen on the USS Liberty attack

Joan Mellen sends word she is writing a book about the attack on the USS Liberty in 1967. I recently posted about James Angleton’s role in the incident.

Joan Mellen on LBJFred, a faithful reader, adds that Joan’s last book Faustian Bargains examined some of the most deceitful episodes in the career of Lyndon Johnson. Along the way she dismantles a persistent JFK myth: the story of “the Mac Wallace fingerprint.”

I don’t agree with everything Joan writes but I always learn something new and intriguing from her books.

  1. I was 16 when Kennedy was assassinated. My father and my best friend, Janice, watched TV for three days. I’ve never believed that JFK was killed by LHO. It was Johnson all the way – he had the most to gain and the most to lose.
