Brian Latell indicts Fidel again
Former CIA analyst Brian Latell thinks Fidel Castro was behind JFK’s assassination, a self-serving theory for a former employee of an agency that conspired to assassinate Fidle Castro 634 times. His is one of many JFK conspiracy theories which I doubt. Latell also thinks Fide Castro is a hypocritical dictator, which I can believe.
In his book review, An appalling indictment of Fidel, in the MIami Herald, Latell writes: Read more
Former CIA analyst Brian Latell: ‘Cuban intelligence officers were complicit in Kennedy’s death’
Former CIA analyst Brian Latell says Cuban government officials were complicit in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. I have posted my take on Latell’s claims.
Here is how he made his case to me. The interview was conducted by email. I have deleted three questions for which Latell said he had no independent knowledge. Otherwise, Latell’s comments have not been edited.
As Washington and Havana parley, a former CIA analyst raises JFK questions
The CIA has credible information implicating seven Cuban government officials in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 that it has never made public, according to Brian Latell, a retired agency analyst.
“The Kennedy assassination should be added to the agenda for official Cuban-American negotiations,” Latell recently told JFK Facts. A retired CIA employee who served as the agency’s National Intelligence Officer for Cuba from 1990 to 1994, Latell first made the allegations in his 2013 book, Castro’s Secrets. He elaborated on his views in an email interview.
Latell’s allegations come at a turning point in U.S.-Cuba relations.
What the CIA and Cuba are hiding in their JFK files?
Why should the U.S. and Cuba open their JFK assassination files now?
Because it would dispel the doubt and confusion that both Cubans and Americans still feel about this important moment in their common history.
Former law professor targets Latell’s ‘Castro knew it’ theory
The enduring theory that Fidel Castro was behind the assassination of President Kennedy, first propagated by CIA assets in the pay of CIA within hours the crime, remains in circulation 50 years later. Now this theory is coming in for close scrutiny in an informative series on Op-Ed News entitled The Anti-Latell Report.
Written by Arnaldo Fernandez, a former law professor at the University of Havana, the articles examine the work of Brian Latell,a former CIA analyst, who has developed a modified version of the “Castro did it” conspiracy theory, which might be summarized as the “Castro knew it” theory. In his 2012 book, “Castro’s Secrets,” Latell argued that the Cuban leader knew about Oswald in the fall of 1963, knew he might kill JFK, and did nothing about it.
The “Castro knew it” theory deserve discussion as much as any JFK theory, if only because of its growing respectability.
