Angleton, Cuba, and the assassination of JFK

The GhostOn June 3, I gave an hour-long talk on James Angleton, Cuba, and the assassination of JFK in Dulles, Virginia.

Angleton was the chief of CIA counterintelligence from 1954 to 1974. He was key power broker in Cold War America

The talk, delivered at the Future of Freedom Foundation’s conference on “The National Security State and JFK,” will be broadcast on CSPAN on Sunday July 9 at noon Eastern Time.

Tune in for a true tale of the Deep State.

The occasion was the Future of Freedom Foundation’s conference on “The National Security State and JFK.”

In my speech, drawn from The Ghost, my forthcoming biography of Angleton, I tell the unknown story of James Angleton’s unknown role in JFK’s Cuba policy; in the surveillance of Lee Oswald; and in the breakdown of presidential security in Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963.

It’s not a conspiracy theory. It’s a documented sequence of events. It’s what actually happened.

I explain one of the key revelations that will be detailed in The Ghost: a declassified CIA report to the Pentagon, written by Angleton in May 1963. This memo constitutes a new and important piece of unsolved homicide of John F. Kennedy.

What the memo, along with other evidence, shows is this:

Angleton knew about Lee Harvey Oswald’s visit to the Cuban Consulate in Mexico City September 1963.  And: Angleton used Oswald for an unknown intelligence purpose six weeks before JFK’s assassination.

To put it another way, Angleton was monitoring Oswald as he made his was to Dallas.

If you miss the live broadcast, I will post a video on JFK Facts shortly.
