The original deadline [October 26, 2017] was the last hope that the process would be held to standard of control. [For the CIA] it was more of a statement, ‘We can delay this as long as possible.’ So I would not be at all surprised if they continue to stall. There’s never going to be as much public scrutiny as there was during that one specific moment [Oct. 26]. Now it’s off the radar, and for the CIA that’s the point. Are Trump and the CIA fighting? Maybe a year ago they were. Now it feels like they’ve made their peace.”
