Oh Pete, what a great man. I am proud to say that fans of Celtic Football Club (in the UK) sing “This land is my land”. All in all he was just a great man. His songs will live forever. As long as there are people who care!
I should point out that I know that wasn’t one of his songs. Still, a great man and a sad loss to the world.
I have original Pete Seeger albums on vinyl from the 1960s. He was a marvelous musician. Never paid attention to his politics, only his music. He was the Woodie Guthrie of his age, although not quite the song writer.
In the 1960s, he was reluctant to perform in public. He wasn’t an anti-war leader. I understand now why.
