From a faithful reader: “Gary used his expert knowledge with uncommon grace and skill – not only with his co-workers (of higher and lower rank), but with the media (thanks in part to his own radio/TV experience)….. Working at the Sixth Floor Museum was the ideal job for Gary, and he was the right person for the job. His views matured over the years. He was not unreasonably committed to his own contributions, such as the acoustics. Having to work with people outside the research community probably helped, but his personal qualities were essential.”
