Journalistic failure, from JFK to Trump

In response to Peter’s post about the media failure in the 2016 election, Larry writes:

“The election cycle exposed many of our nation’s institutions. People who dont believe that the media and government could conspire to hide the truth, and that the FBI and WC investigations could be influenced for political reasons in 1963 only need look at this election cycle. The Wikileaks emails showed how our system really works. They showed how the media works with the political class. We saw how FBI investigations can be politically influenced. A candidate tried to evade FOIA and violated national security laws but was not charged with any crimes. we saw how politicians hide records/destroy records to prevent exposure. These are all things that happened in the aftermath of the JFK assassination.”
