Comment of the week

John McAdams – March 7

Isn’t it at all odd that Bush is naming two guys in 1975 who were two of three meeting to discuss Bush’s political future,…..?

So you think this is sinister? You could find something equally “sinister” about essentially everybody who had any importance at all in Texas politics in that era.

Has it ever occurred to you that if I took all your posts, and made a list of all the people whom you think have a sinister connection to somebody else you think is sinister, the list would come to several thousand people?

Bill Pierce – March 15

IMO the *ultra-elaborate theories* play right into the hands of WC fabulists who can easily mock the extraordinary number of farfetched variables and sinister people that those theories entail.

Tom S asks:
“Who are you presenting to, in your mind’s eye?”

(1) As this forum plainly illustrates, WC fundamentalists desperately defend every little detail of the official theory no matter how absurd or unnecessary. There’s no question that they project a narrow-minded, consensus view of the assassination. Not one of them strays outside the box. Ever. They aren’t persuadable. The only reason to engage them is to make sure they are not the lone voices defining the parameters of the case.

(2) For some conspiracists, fifty years of microscopic research has created an imaginary world of impossibly convoluted plots involving almost everyone in America including the entire government and MSM. [It is correct to say the cover-up has been monolithic.] I suggest conspiracists review Fonzi’s ‘The Last Investigation’, to understand the simplicity of an actual plot.

IMO the *ultra-elaborate theories* play right into the hands of WC fabulists who can easily mock the extraordinary number of farfetched variables and sinister people that those theories entail. Regarding such theories, conspiracists should exercise extreme caution and skepticism. No matter how intricate the plot, the most important point of the assassination event is this: the cover-up began immediately.

(3) What was it about the assassination – and Oswald – that caused the civilian government to eliminate the possibility of conspiracy before investigating the crime? Was the government protecting the Mafia? Texas oil tycoons? A random bunch of nutwingers? Castro? LBJ? Answer the question and you’ll know who orchestrated the assassination. And you’ll know why the permanent power structure will cover it up forever.
